world's fastest bird (falco peregrinus)

this bird has a hard luck story to tell. she killed a coot on the dyke at merritt island national wildlife refuge where i was photographing spoonbills. unfortunately about 6 black vultures that had been there too came charging over with wings upraised and frightened the falcon away. they tore into the coot and the falcon made a pass before giving up.
