WTE Family Reunion (Haliaeetus albicilla)

Having been to Mull in January last year, and seeing WTE and Goldens from a great distance, we decided to go back last August for the summer weather. Ha! There's a great Scots word to describe the weather, which is "dreich"! ("Drei" rhymes with tree, and then the "ch" sound at the end of loch). Dull, dreary, rainy, miserable.

Took a wildlife boat trip, which ended up facing cliffs which are inaccessible from the land. Two WTEs were just sitting there, although the skipper had to point them out as we were far enough away not to disturb them. After a while, we left and headed back, but I could see something approaching the WTEs, which turned out to be junior visiting the folks.

So - moving boat, rough sea, terrible light, manual-only lens at the extreme end of 800mm, me hanging off the end of the boat - not a great pic, but a great moment.
