X-bills
The Crossbills were waaaay high up in the conifers that day. I couldn't even tell what they were through the 400 lens, not until I got the shots up on screen and cropped them massively. Most were too blurry, but this one somehow survived the cropping process.

Yeah.... the bill is a dead give-away isn't it!!!

You know my only views of Crossbills (since I got a camera) have been way at the top of the tallest trees and you've done really well to end with a useable picture.

There's no mistaking the bill of that bird. A great find and capture, Ann. I haven't seen a crossbill for years.
