Thanks, every one! There is a nice shady spot along the boardwalk at Green Cay Wetlands, a circle of trees where the Yellow-Crowned Night Herons tend to congregate. This morning I counted five hidden away, all in juvenile plumage except for this one, who seemed to be the eldest of the group. There were doubtless a few more in the thickets that I overlooked.
