Yellow-crowned Parrot (Amazona ochrocephala nattereri)

Sometimes called Yellow-crowned Amazon, this relatively large parrot with short square tail is widely distributed in the northern two thirds of South America. This is A. o. nattereri characterized by having a green forehead with yellow restricted to the crown as seen here. Other races have more extensive yellow including the forehead. One population near the mouth of the Amazon has its whole head mostly yellow.
