Yellow Star Grass
Yellow Star Grass (Hypoxis hirsuta: Hypoxidaceae). Flowers are 1.3-2.5 cm (0.5-1.0 in) in diameter. The insect is a Solider Fly (Stratiomys sp.: Stratiomyidae).
Habitat
Post Oak Savannah vegetation area. Upland dominated by post oak and yaupon at 73 m (185 ft) elevation.
Location
Lick Creek Park, College Station, Brazos County, Texas, USA.
