Yellow violet (Viola sempervirens)

The violets were the opposite of the oxalis. Here it was the grasslands ones that were purple while the ones in the redwoods were yellow.

LOL that must be a classic case of mis-naming surely Ann. How can violet be yellow eh?

It is a lovely picture and another very pretty flower - very well done lassie.
 
I don't think I have ever come across a yellow violet before, Ann. Lovely!

Yellow violets always seem a bit odd to me. Most of hours are purple to white and many in-between and only a couple of yellow ones. TFS this little beauty!!!
