Yellow Wagtail (Motacilla flava)

These seemed to be the commonest winter migrant present in the Rift Valley. Many subspecies/races were represented but trying to identify them in winter plumage proved too difficult. Decided to lump them all together and call them Yellow Wagtals.

A great shot to brighten up a dismal winter's day. The flava family can be difficult at the best of times.

I almost get mad trying to put a name to the couple of races I saw last Autumn... obviously, I gave up! ;) Who cares the name when the bird and the picture are so beautiful??? o:) Very good job, Mike!!! :t: :t: :t:
