Yellowhammer in snow
Looked lovely, but suspect this bird was not too happy with the weather. I've never been so close to one of these.

Location
Tyttenhanger, St. Albans UK
Date taken
20th Dec 2009
Scientific name
Emberiza citrinella

Thanks All, and Nospringchicken, best spot I know up your way for these is Chosely drying barns - just south of Thornham on the North Norfolk Coast - well worth dropping into on a trip to Cley or Titchwell. Normally get corn bunting there too and have had Lapland. ;0)

Cheers, Martin
