Yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella)

Have been trying to get a perched shot for a while but just accumulate images of them hopping along the ground. Some nice perches to choose from, however, this one chose an old brick.

It's a lovely shot. When they're this good, it makes no matter what the bird chose to perch on ;)
 
This is really lovley!!!! I didn't realize the perch was a brick until I read your comments. Love the pose in this shot.
 
A terrific image of this beautiful bird. I would settle for one perched on anything. I can find one anywhere. Very nice indeed Mike.
