It's ages since I've seen one of these. I heard a few back last spring before the first lock down and they were the first ones for over a year!!!

Again, I think I've found a spot where they like to spend time, particularly sharing tree space with the reed buntings!

About 6 years ago I used to hear them calling on my way home from a nature reserve about 15 miles away. I counted them once and heard 17! Three years ago none! Loch of the Lowes reserve had them visiting the feeders there were none in 2019 (couldn't go last year of course).

'Shame that, Delia, hopefully they'll return for when things are better and people can get on with their lives!
