You should'a seen the one that got away! (Podiceps grisigena)

This Red-necked Grebe family was only marginally closer than the birds I posted yesterday, but the "photo shoot" experience was perhaps even enhanced by the distance and the reed cover between us, as I got to witness a little family drama playing out.
Here: The returning parent didn't bring any food to share, but apparently they all had a lot to tell one another. :-O
