I was looking for Red-Legged Frogs at this pond in the woods of the East Bay where I used to go everyday and this little guy jumped out of a grass tussock.
This is the frog species that has the stereotypical "ribbit" call we're all used to hearing. Because it's used as a background sound in movies, it's call is known the world over. Hard to believe that such a mighty and very loud call comes from such a small creature.
