I suggest you contact the RSPB directly about this. Frampton is a striking reserve, but on my sole visit I noted the lack of places to park one’s weary wotteva- and assumed, since it was then newly open, that this would soon be rectified. Obviously not.

Have done numerous times and at other nature reserves. What impressed me about Titchwell was that they were provided as a matter of course. For some seats are not a luxury but a necessity!
Yes I know lots of places dont make provision and I often go to such places.
However seats make life much more bearable for us crinklies and again I congatulate those involved at Titchwell.

Baird's Sand showed very well from Island Hide later in the afternoon

Along with Pec Sand (Cley), Osprey close overhead, c.20 species of wader.. A good day out

Today’s highlights

Baird’s sandpiper – juv present on fresh marsh all day but mobile at times
Curlew sandpiper – 2 juvs on fresh marsh
Golden plover – 100 on fresh marsh
Ruff – 50+ on fresh marsh
Spoonbill – 6 on fresh marsh
Red crested pochard – 1 on East Trail
Manx shearwater – 2 offshore
Great skua – 1 offshore
Crossbill – 1 west over carpark

I finally found something at Winterton!
This Red Backed Shrike managed to get in my bins on one of the many scans of the dunes. As is quite typical of the site not long after I saw it a dog walker passed the bush, it disappeared and I did not see it again. It was picked up by someone else at 11ish but was pretty flighty then too.

Nice one mate, can't be many birding days left for you!!!

Thanks Paul, no not long at all, a week late already to be exact. Although a two week 'break' in mid September could be worse timed, I'll get out at some point I'm sure!

No sign of the Baird's Sandpiper this evening, when I want for second time!

Tons of waders on the fresh marsh though in stunning light including 11 Spoonbills. 3 Eiders sitting on the sea.

Baird's Sandpiper Titchwell

The Baird's Sandpiper was also found simultaneously as birders in the hide, by Neil apparently the warden on Scolt Head, whilst looking from the footpath. He quickly alerted me and others birders, as well as nearby RSPB staff, a smart bird.

We also saw an Osprey and a good selection of waders and wildfowl.

Bizzare sighting of the day was two police officers trying to open a small coffin which had washed up on the beach!!

Sabine's Gull

We had lovely views of the juv Sabine's Gull today off salthouse beach car park and then raced round to Cley and had it off there as well.
No excuses for the photographs, but you get the idea !

I had an interesting first hour after dawn sea watching today at Holme in the shapes of 613 gannets west. These were the birds that close enough to positively identify.

There were many more distant shapes heading west and at least another 100 actively fishing in the distant turbines. There must be close on a 1000 gannets fishing in the mouth of The Wash at the moment.
In the rest of the session had 14 bonxies 2 RTDs

Garden Barn Owl

Usually seen flying past the garden, this beauty decided to check out the garden itself for a change. The fence is a recent addition to keep our Jack Russell terrier in but seems to have added wildlife benefits

Sooty Shearwater flew East past my caravan window at East Runton at 13.05, fairly close in, brilliant!
