Hello there,
I was in South Africa two years ago and I was able to photograph many birds there with my simple camera. I am an avid bird watcher, but I found it difficult to identify them in this country. Can you help me with some of them?
(1. I took this first bird-picture in XRPJ + 8F Sabie, South Africa. It was the end of September and this (I suspect a male) is already building the nest for the female.
There were more nests in the area, I guess there were about 10. [IDENTIFIED= Cape Weaver])
(2. I photographed the second one as far as I know in the Kruger National Park. Could it be a female Southern Boubou ?! In fact, I can hardly remember the details. Maybe it works that way! [IDENTIFED= Cape rock-thrush])
3. I also discovered this in the Kruger near a water hole. A brown-hooded kingfisher?
4. I also photographed this in the Kruger. It flew over an open arid landscape ... like almost each prey
5. South of the Kruger National Park. Maybe a speckled Mousebird?
i would have guessed that it was a cape weaver. Can you confirm or disprove that with the pictures?
