What is the cost in US for the 12X42's..? Unable to find it.. These cost no more then my EL 10X42 Rangefinders and less then my 95MM ATX Scope..

So this is what we gleaned from the web presentation today:

So we have a name - NL PURE.

42mm binocular and no denial or confirmation on adding a 32mm. 70º+ AFOV. 159m in 8x (9.1º). 133m in 10x (7.6º). Adds 12x42, 113m (6.5º).

New ergonomic shape thanks to adjusting prism position and new focus mechanism (same prism system as EL though). Removable forehead rest accessory (at extra cost). 840g and up weight. 91% light transmission (all three).

Euro pricing at 2850, 2950, 3050. No UK pricing confirmed until tomorrow.

Announcement now posted on Swaro's FB timeline.

Shipping 1st September, available to pre-order for worldwide shipping from our website from tomorrow

I can see EL still selling well despite the introduction of the NL. Only those who have the money and want the very best Swarovski will pay the big bucks for the NL. So maybe they won't even make an NL 32.

I would have been more excited about a new SLC 8x32, but this may never happen when there's already choice of CL 30 or EL 32.

I think during presentation they say "one hundred thirteen" not "one hundred thirty". 7.4 deg for 12x seems too high.

Some curiosity about the forehead brace, hmmm....I wonder about the balance on the new glass, surely there will be a discussion about it.

Yes, somehow that could suggest front-heaviness... or perhaps it's mainly intended to support the higher magnification of the 12x, handheld? Curious also that the photo shows a return to a flat braided strap, but still the (safe to say, not universally popular?) FP pivot attachment.

Indeed, the 12x can't have the virtually same FOV as the 10x. Still it's an interesting choice and suggests there will be no 50mm NL, whatever one imagines about a possible 32. (12x42 won't be to most birders' tastes any more than my 10x32 is, but I'm sure Swaro have done it well.)

- The projecting lug to the rear of the focuser is presumedly the diopter adjuster (as can be seen from the image below there is no control on the front face of the bridge)

“ by offering a market-leading 71-degree ‘apparent’ field of view. No detail on why the use of the word ‘apparent’... if they don’t know that then it does question any future reviews. Curious that Swaro reckon 71degree makes the field stops vanish... need more than that!

I hope that you will not share this message with anybody, but Swarovski succeeded in the production of wave shaped prisms, so light waves can pass them fully in phase.

I had a look at the Swarovski site but unless it's the Dg I didn't see anything new. Would I have seen with the wave-shaped prisms, maybe?

SLC 8x32 for me too, Beth: I think at the moment I like my 42 SLCs best of all, and not just because they are almost all I have with me during these last three months plus of lockdown. I love the view and the handling and the simple functional design. Nice and chunky and compact.

At first glance I'm not sure about the new model but trying it out is everything and I don't dare do so at that price.
