mm3 60 ga/45 and sdl v3 eyepiece (1 Viewer)

Hello all, new to this forum so apologising advance if this question has been asked before. I am using an mm3 60 GA/45 which came supplied with the HR 3 41145 zoom eyepiece. I am considering purchasing the SDL v3 zoom and was wondering whether this would be a worthwhile thing to do in terms of optical performance etc. Any help much appreciated!!

AFAIK, Glyn, there's no great difference reported. I had the MM3 with SDL. The SDL is big, a !ittle 'ungainly' on the MM3. It is, however, waterproof. I think the HDF might have a slightly wider FOV but I could be wrong.

You'll see a better investement buying the ED version of your scope than swapping eyepieces.

I have the MM4 50ED and compared to the non-EUD version its miles away sharper and much better contrast.

Now, if you have the ED versions and upgrade the eyepiece? The difference again is like night and day - Totally worth the expenditure.
