Italian Opera house = Met, restructured = Tem - has furs (at the back of ‘Tem’ = Temmin ‘c’ks, for a set time = stint for a rare breeder = Temminck’s Stint

So new clues: first ANAGRAMS - 6 European birds and 6 North American birds - all common!

3. Hear for example, Mathew Smith scored one, at home, with the top of the head and going to eg.lend kit randomly. (N)

4. Yank hair piece takes something like a billion years to produce what is aka a bare head. (N)

5. Literary schoolboy gets looser prize for seafarer (pelag.)

6. It all sounds like Australian called British naval man with food on stick to catch a large pirate (pelag.)

7. Fleming’s chief, using overrail in the States is really repulsive and a constant triller for this mimic (WP)

8. reptilian type skin, rug maker for example, produces fearsome looking specimen (Ethiop) (it’s a finch!)

Cryptics- So the letter value has been added to make the cryptic clues a bit easier - most of these have been vagrants to Britain or Ireland so should be familiar. Shout if more clues are needed ;)
