Dennis your beautiful observation is useless if you don't know how far your pupils will open in the dark!

Mine still open to 6.8mm. So I can use the 8x56 almost fully and the SLC 8x56 can be used much longer at dusk than an 8x30!

In addition, they should respect that other participants do not find the NL as good as they do, that has nothing to do with envy or cannot afford, I also think the SLC are very good binoculars, tastes are just different and that is a good thing.

I still have found that there is only about 15 minutes to at most 30 minutes window at dawn and dusk when the 8x56 has an exit pupil advantage over a smaller exit pupil instrument and that will be true even with 6.8 mm pupils. Next time it starts getting dark time how much longer you can see with the 56 mm versus a 32 mm. Once it is dark the 56 mm aperture isn't going to help you. It is a very similar situation with a 8x32 and a 8x42 and that is a big reason many birders prefer to carry a 8x32. For that small advantage I don't think for normal birding carrying the 56 mm aperture is worth the extra weight. If you are hunting or owling it is different. I agree with you that the SLC are very good binoculars and everybody tastes are different but IMO they are not as good as an EL or NL.

Yes when I say eyebox it means what you refer to as transparency where you feel the view is easy on eyes, natural and like there is no glass between eyes and the object in focus. When I compared NL to noctavids/ultravids, I got the same view.
I don’t dislike NLs! But I think they are overpriced and overhyped. A lot of reviews I see say they are better than ELS but I also see a lot of people saying there is nothing special in NL optics other than slightly wider field of view which is not noticeable if you have nothing to compare at the same time.
The outdoor industry is like a teenager, they fall heads over for anything that is advertised to be the best. People should try these before buying and make sure you compare them to other options.
If I have to use an analogy I would say SLC is 308 win , el is like 30.06 and nl is like 300 prc.
If Swarovski did not have ELS, I would buy NLs. But because I have ELs already I will not buy NLs especially the 12x42.

That is fine that you think the NL's are overpriced. They probably are but in my opinion regardless of price the NL's are the best binoculars Swarovski makes followed by the EL and the SLC and Swarovski agrees because that is how they have them priced but it doesn't mean the SLC might not be a better choice for you. Opinions may differ. Everybody has to decide how much they want to spend to get the performance they want and what their budget allows.

How big is your eye pupil because now in the dark, your time frame is just too valued for me.
In addition, 30 minutes are significantly more "than only a few minutes".

I don't think for normal birding carrying the 56 mm aperture is worth the extra weight.

Bird watching can also be done in the immediate vicinity if you live more or less close to nature ... why Henry always carries this big 8x56 FL with him is no mystery to me ...
Of course, they are not binoculars for the long hike!

People rationalize their decision based on the cost of the binocular.

Can't this knowledge also be transferred to NL buyers?

Did we have the same discussions when Zeiss came out with the SF 8 and 10X42?, and was there not comparison between the SF and SV, not to mention the cost of the new Zeiss. I forget what the prices of the SV 8.5X42 and the SF in 8X42 were then...seems like a long time ago, but it was not.

I think the SLCs are phenomenal optics, great to hold and solidly built. I've decided against getting the NLs as I am perfectly happy with my SLC 8x42.

My next purchase will be SLC 8x56 for very low light viewing

I am also very happy with my SLC 8X42. I do not know how old you are, but a pair of 10X56 might even work beter for you in low light conditions. They are my favourite binoculars.
