Anyone else get Orioles at their feeders? (1 Viewer)

Been feeding hummingbirds for 33 years. Last year, was the first year our feeders were visited by orioles, and then it was only a half-dozen times all season. This year, the orioles came early, ( late March, snow was still on the ground) - feeders were put out first week of May - hummers are usually here by May 7. We now have at least one male oriole who visits once or twice an hour, from dawn to dusk. Some friends, both about 15 miles distant, report the same oriole thing going on at their feeders, and both say they haven't had orioles visit before last year. Is this a regular occurrence in the rest of the country? Middle of upstate NY here.

I had Orioles regularly visit my hummingbird feeders In AZ. They would also use Oriole feeders with jelly and oranges.

We get a family of Baltimore Orioles at our hummingbird feeder. They've been coming for the past 5 years.

I have between 14 to 18 orioles on 4 feeders during early spring. Mostly Bullocks but I also get Orchard's and Baltimore's during migration, on both ends.

Currently I have 5 Bullock's; four adult males and one 1st year male.

I love their song; they're not singing so much now but early spring the sky is filled with their song.

Mine are Baltimore's - and they seem to be getting more 'tolerant' of my being outside while they're feeding.

Mine prefer grape jelly over strawberry. The Grape jelly goes quickly and only when they have cleaned out the Grape jelly then they start on the Strawberry jelly.

Hello, New York. Here about 50 miles from Las Vegas we've got Scott's Orioles and they just occasionally stop by for a quick drink. (They're taking over the country 🤓🤓🤓).

Interesting. My Orioles are spending more time at the hummer feeder rather than the jelly feeders.

My garden has been visited by orioles, and to keep them in, I made an oriole feeder to keep them in my garden. I used baling wire and a Deli cup to make an Oriole feeder. The first step is to drill some small holes at the bottom of the deli cup. Then, I made a circle with wire that is just the right size to carry the deli cup. It is recommended to use pliers to secure and tighten. The next step is to bend the baling wire end to hang the deli cup onto the Poole feeder. Finally, I put their favorite food in that homemade feeder, which is jelly. As expected, the orioles proved to be very fond of them.

Attracting an oriole bird can be a challenge, but if you know how to attract them by offering the foods they want, you can have these gorgeous birds in your backyard at the soonest possible time.
