If you are very pleased with NL Pure... ... (1 Viewer)

Yes!

By the way, have you noticed a re-appreciation of the ones you've kept?
Not quite had the time to use them (see my message just sent) but I intend to do so as opportunities present themselves next week. That will inform any decision as like Richard / Maljunulo I haven't looked back on the sales and don't want to do so with any future sales. I suspect there will be a very positive re-appreciation and that of course is good.

You missed the close focus pre-'Legend' version by the sound of it; I wonder how you would have felt about the comparison then. It is a bit bulky though.
Yes, I did miss the earlier version. As it turned out, I am glad I did. I might otherwise have settled on them. The Nl's are a joy to use over an extended time, because of their better balance towards my glasses, not to mention their greater FOV and clearer optics.

My response to OP is this: I have the NL Pure 8x42 and the Nikon Premier, (I think that is the name), 8x32. I like both a lot. The Swaro is superior and I am very glad I own them. The Nikons are great binos though. They are like old friends. I use them in certain situations because I am not yet relaxed about banging a pair of $3K binos about on a rough canoe trip. Still, when I returned home off a canoe trip last week I was reminded just how good the Swaros are. I just need to ding up the Swaros a bit. I am sure they are every bit as rugged as the Nikons. Once I relax a bit with the Swaros, the Nikons might start collecting dust.

Long story but I had a small incident with the Nikons on the trip. They ended up landing in the sand. They were completely covered in sand . Ugh. But, I rinsed them off in the lake and then after they dried I went over them thoroughly with a soft brush. Every nook and cranny. Then a lens cloth. They ended up perfect. No sign of any damage whatsoever. No scratches in the glass or the body armour. The Focus knob is smooth and consistent - like the day I bought them. The eye cups are perfect too. Great binos.

Simple reason, I like them
And that is the only thing that counts. I made the leap to NL mostly because I wanted to add a full size 8 power bino which was missing from my bag of tricks. If I already owned a good 8x42 that I was happy with, I would have resisted the temptation too. For example, I love my Nikon 8x32, and I don't see myself springing for a new expensive 8x32. No reason for me to do that.

I am really really happy with my NL 10x32. I prefer 10x over 8x and with the light weight of the 32 format and the wide FOV of 396ft and 69 degree AFOV, it is as good as bigger brother 42mm. I can hike and use for hours without tiring of my arm and my neck.....Amazing and great job Swarovski!

I also have both. My 8x32 Nikon Premier has been in my car since a long time. However, after using NL 8x42 for a while, it is really hard going back using the Nikon....Human nature, easily spoiled I guess ;)

Replying to your post of a few weeks ago now, Tom...

... and yes I have! Less is more; the keepers seem to have got even better and I am pleased I didn't act in a hurry before downsizing, as I am sure the right choices were made. (It happens occasionally!)
