Wasp ID? (Cambridgeshire, UK) (1 Viewer)

Hi All
Vespula germanica seem to have invaded my garden and are paying particular interest in the laurels.
Whilst watching them, this smaller wasp started flitting around the foliage, but was very skittish and
only stayed around for a few minutes. Constantly on the move.
I thought that the yellow on the base of the antenae would help, well it didn't help me. I looked at
Ancistrocerus but the closest I could find was Ectemnius continuus.
Coule someone take alook and ID please?
Yours, Gareth

I am no expert , but looking at Bwars , E.lapidarius would be my punt . Broken spots on the terga ,and a well distributed species across the UK.
Thanks for chipping in creaturesnapper. I have also had a suggestion of E. continuus. Was this a species you considered and discounted?
Yours, Gareth
