I don't understand exactly what is wrong but I'm not getting the population of birds that I used to enjoy. Some known facts is there are a lot of people moving here and I wonder if the sudden population growth is taking away the birds since a lot of acres are being taken away for the thousands of new people who reside here. I have a wooded area behind my house which I enjoy just for the very fact of bird watching but it is sad because it isn't there as it was in the past. Even when I go to Magnolia Plantation and gardens it's still real slim on enjoying getting captures. Is it happening to you?

I really can't help you Daniel.... just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear you're struggling to see birds in your area at the moment.

Thanks, Delia. I still see some but the numbers are way down. We don't really suffer from pollution but like the rest of the world is experiencing odd weather one day hot one day cold.

Do you have any BOPs hanging around that might be keeping the smaller birds in hiding?
If it is your local population of neighbors, eventually the birds will become used to them and as it gets colder, they'll find your feeders for the hunger they are feeling. Fingers crossed for you Daniel!

You know KC it breaks my heart it's one pleasure that I enjoy immensely and I feel bad because I just don't get the bird count I used to enjoy. I know it will improve with spring but I remember enjoying sitting a day after work in the freezing cold just to see them in the beautiful morning sunlight. Now I can wait and not see a bird for a good while. Beats me but to answer your question I have mostly just song birds hardly any Hawks heck I haven't seen them hardly at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens either. Yes, my cat did come back but it's everywhere around here where the birds just aren't plentiful as they once were.
