Only indirectly about nature preservation. The 45th session of the World Heritage Committee in Kazan, Russia, scheduled from 19 - 30 June 2022 has been postponed. But why not relocated to Ukraine, at least online ?

Interesting thought.

Note the countries listed in your first link - Vice Chairs and Committee Members - can't recall how they all voted on that UN Security Council meeting to drop Russia a few months back but imagine that would be a step too far - ie it's an eclectic mix and not much mainstream European/Nato input for example.

It's probably momentous enough that it has been postponed.

This is not about the natural heritage but the Russian authorities (Kremlin) are murdering Ukrainians, destroying and stealing Ukrainian cultural heritage, and denying the existence of Ukrainian culture, language and nation. And they are supposed to chair that meeting. There is something deeply wrong here. I use such strange term authorities/Kremlin naively to avoid using the term Russians, but unfortunately many Russians, maybe even most of them think alike, or even are worse then their authorities.
On the other hand such exclusion would be not good too.

Totally agree.

I was saying that the Egyptian, Indian delegations etc may not be as staunchly anti-Russian* as eg the UK, Estonia or Poland etc Some nations have been taken in by the false propaganda/ may have vested interests in trade etc etc

*(No-one wanted to be anti-Russian - just they brought it on themselves, especially if we are pro-Ukrainian)

, Indian delegations etc may not be as staunchly anti-Russian ..
Infortunately I agree, at least partially.
About 1/3 of protected areas in Ukraine have suffered from the Russian aggression, nature is being damaged by wildfires, pollution, dolphins are being killed, etc.
Edited later:
It was postponed almost 2 months ago ...
