Hello from Cooden, East Sussex, England (1 Viewer)

I am a keen photographer and have always liked looking out for birds in the garden and on my travels but I am by no means an expert. As a 70 year old I am finding it harder to carry around the heavy cameras and lenses needed for bird photography so I am tending to stay more at home in the garden and let the birds come to me at the feeding station. Thanks.

If you're wanting to keep up the photography it might be worth looking at a bridge camera - the quality isn't up to a DSLR, but you can get decent enough results, and they're a lot lighter.

Hi Phil and a warm welcome from me too. I agree with Richard. I can no longer carry heavy equipment around with me, but a bridge camera really works for me. I hope we may be able to see some of your pictures in the Gallery sometime!!

Thanks for the welcome Richard. I have moved over to mirrorless cameras which has helped but it is the heavy long lenses that make it tiring. I will still use them, just not as often.
