We have had a bird call in or around our garden all summer. I've checked everything by myself but to no avail.. I'm hoping someone here can help.
We haven't sighted it but have recorded it... Not the best recording sorry

No idea what it is. It's not particularly bird-like. Amphibian? Exotic gamebird in cage? Does it always come from the same spot? What habitat etc?

Hi all
I posted some weeks ago with a bird call which no one seems to know.
So yesterday I saw the bird at the top of the trees in the bottom of the garden - these are maybe 30ft tall -. I want able to really see the bird as the sun was in my eyes..... Anyhow I managed to get a better recording of it this time around.
I'm hoping someone may know what it is.... Many thanks

Can you try to take a picture of the bird? Or can you describe it, at least a rough impression of size and jizz-feeling (with the usual caveats?). Yes, there is not much when looking directly into the sun, but any added information might well be useful. Thanks!

Perhaps a Carrion Crow, they do have some strange variations to their calls.
Either that or an exotic escape ( is St Athan still an active RAF base I wonder?)

It is still active in one area - altho mainly special forces and army 👌
