Charles/Karl Heineken (1 Viewer)

Hi, welcome to the forum on behalf of the staff and moderators. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.

Hi enolledoofe and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Hello from Portugal. ... I want to know someting about Christian Heineken (died at Madeira , 4-1-1830).
Welcome, from me as well ... (y)

The Heineken you are looking for is ...
...
There is discussion of him in this thread.
Nomina mystica or Nomina deliria ... !?
...
See post #11 (here), #39 (here), and more important post #64 (here), and onwards (until #76). I think that's about all of what you will find about him (or very close). We spent quite some time tracing him last year ...

In today's Key to Scientific Names you find him as:
heineken
Dr Christian Heineken (?1792-1830) English physician, naturalist on Madeira 1826-1830 (Paul Scofield in litt.) (syn. Columba trocaz, subsp. Sylvia atricapilla).

Enjoy!

Björn
