Eagle or just a black kite? (1 Viewer)

Dear experts,

I found this one perching on the tree branch just beside a lake. It appeared sufficiently big (you can see its talons if you zoom a bit - although the image quality is poor) to make me think its an eagle but am not sure! It was photographed a couple of days on a warm day around noon time near B R Hills in Karnataka, South India (12.037457290865959, 77.09269295405369). Any ideas?
