  • My profile picture shows a male and female Monistria cicatricosa, a member of the Gaudy Grasshopper family, which I photographed near Ayers Rock in 1990. It is the only known record of this species apart from two specimens which were collected in the 19th century, one in South Australia and the other, like these, in the Northern Territory.
