    Rainton Meadows 7 Tundra Bean Geese (6 ad and a Juv), 6 European White-fronted Geese and a Pink-foot flew in with Greylags at 8:45 this morning and were still on the main lake at 10:05 at least.

    Rainton Meadows (lunchtime) - 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Tern, 8 Stock Doves and at least 162 Lapwings.

    Quite quiet at Rainton Meadows tonight, although cuckoo flew over no2 flycatching. Also curlew, Gropper and grey partridge heard. Stoat or weasel ran across the road at Durham turf and a black-tailed skimmer on the hide.

    Rainton Meadows - 1 Green Sand, 2 Common Terns, 1 Cormorant over and about 100 Sand Martins including a lot of young birds - today at dinner. I Grey Wagtail heard yesterday - later seen by JBee

    Rainton Meadows - 2 Common Terns flew in for 5 mins at 7:10am. Last night 6 LRP's and 2 Redshanks plus a day strolling Hedgehog near Joes Pond.

    Hard to tell to be honest - without the tail. Think it could be a redstart due to the lack of barring on the belly but never seen a juv redstart so can't be sure ;)

    Two visits to Rainton Meadows (last night and this morning) produced the same outcome as JBee and Ray - its very quite at the moment. Although did see the Cuckoo between 2 and 3 last night. At least two Groppers still reeling, 4 LRP's, 2 Shelduck and 2 Stock Doves - along with the usual species...

    Rainton Meadows quite quiet this morning with only a drake Shoveler of any note. No sign of Ringed Plover. I also had a hunting LEO last night at 8:45pm.
