    Bird of Prey - Poland

Thanks Ken.. Yes, I'm pretty sure it isn't a Buteo in any way, since colors didn't fit at all, as you said..

    Bird of Prey - Poland

Thanks for your input.. It was also my initial idea actually, but my limited experience with them and what seems to be a white/light area at the root of the tale, doesn't fit with my birdbook.. But they are in the area here from time to time, but sort of rare.. Can anyone else confirm the LSE?

    Bird of Prey - Poland

Hello Today this bird came flying over my house.. Unfortunately very height and without moving the wings at any time.. Just gliding over.. It looks like the underwings are light-brown or at least lighter on the front, than the back.. I honestly don't have any guess myself, except something...

    Eagle - Poland

Hello Today I saw this eagle flying above some forest/field areas, together with a Common Buzzard.. It didn't appear much bigger than the common Buzzard and the white spots on the wings above and the white line on the tail makes me wonder if it could be a Lesser Spotted Eagle? I know the...

    Buzzard, but which?

Hello Today I just saw this fly above my house in Poland.. I would 9 out of 10 times be able to see it clearly as a Common Buzzard, but this one here seems a bit odd with certain features looking more like a Honey Buzzard (Longer and more thin neck/head, looks more greyish in the head and eye...

    Wagtail - Poland

So just to clarify.. With the "Uppertail-coverts blackish, rump largely grey", together with the rest the pictures are showing, can it be said that it's not a "clean" Pied Wagtail, but not a clean White Wagtail either, so hybrid is most likely or can nothing be concluded? :)

    Wagtail - Poland

Which means it's a White Wagtail, right?

    Wagtail - Poland

I have some more pictures of the same bird.. Was still present today.. Does it change anything in the conclusion.. ? I'll resend them to the rarity committee as well and see what they say..

    Wagtail - Poland

Just an update on the case.. I just received info from my contact at the rarity committee and he says that it doesn't look 100% right for a Pied Wagtail, and to clarify, I'll need pictures of the rump, that must be black and not just dark grey.. Wasn't aware of that detail..

    Wagtail - Poland

Thanks for the inputs to both of you.. It will maybe be a hard one to take a final answer on, since the conditions and pictures available is not optimal.. I have forwarded the case to someone from the Polish rarity committee, whom I know.. In the end, it will be them, to take a final decision...

    Wagtail - Poland

Hi Butty I can't really judge this, since my experience is too little, that's why I uploaded my pictures here.. I have attached the same picture, compensated with 1,5 in exposure compensation.. For me it still looks pretty dark, at least much darker than the rest I find around here..

    Wagtail - Poland

Hello Recently I have tried to keep an eye on White Wagtails, since it happens that Pied Wagtails also show up here in Poland in the spring time.. Usually the white have clear dark head and light grey back, but this one here today is more darkish on the back.. I have tried to research about the...
