    Best 8x bins for $200

8x30 prostaffs all the way. just picked up a set for myself. can't say a bad thing about them. Esp if it is for others the Nikon name is easily recognizable as a quality product

    Which one is best?

of the 2 you narrowed it down to Nikon PROSTAFF 7S 10x42 gets my vote IMO excellent for the money. I have really high regard for the prostaff 7s line esp for the price I do agree with yarrellii regarding the monarch 5

Wow, That is quite a bit of a step up from the monarch 7. Definitely a world class end game pair of binos. Enjoy them in Good health!

Advice need please re. eye strain with Monarch 7 8x30

no prob. here is the link of a lengthy post I wrote of differences i found during my comparison of 3 8x42 bions. Helped me pick. May be of value to go through the different traits of the M7 to better identify the source of the stain. It could be 1 or more items (mutli-factorial). Or if you get...

Advice need please re. eye strain with Monarch 7 8x30

Pertinent side note, interestingly you are not alone with eye stain/ discomfort using the Monarch 7 8x30. In the bino bargain thread someone just recently posted about Headaches with Monarch 7 8x30s.......... I have not waded through all of the posts, but what has helped me in the past is to...

Monarch HG 8x42 vs Conquest HD 8x42 vs Swarovski SLC 8x42

I appreciate the kind words. Thank you for reading and confirming my assessment so future buyers/readers may benefit (credibility). I like the luxury/option of using the binos with or without glasses for a few reasons. Positives using binos without glasses for me: - More stable less shake (I...

    Binocular bargains

You kind of answered your own question in the post. Based on what you wrote you want something optically superior that is light weight and that does not give you a headache. Based on that looks like the ZEISS Terra ED Pocket 8x25 fits the bill esp. since you have tired it and liked it didn't...

    Binocular bargains

Lol, thanks. I actually went with Prostaff 7s 8x30 just to keep as a set of car binos to replace a pair of Nikon 8x25 trailblazers. Couldn't pass it up for only around $100. The 7s 8x30 has pretty good reviews and the mark to beat are the Trailblazers (shouldn't be too hard). My past experience...

Monarch HG 8x42 vs Conquest HD 8x42 vs Swarovski SLC 8x42

Thank you eitanaltman and yarrellii for confirming my findings. My goal was to help future buyers. So this verification will definitely be helpful for credibility. :t: I did not know about the Kamakura secret. Good to know. So I guess the title should read Kamakura Vs Nikon vs Swar..... jk

Monarch HG 8x42 vs Conquest HD 8x42 vs Swarovski SLC 8x42

ok..... I had previously started a thread: Conquest HD 8x42 vs Swarovski SLC 8x42. I have started a new thread because I have added a third to the mix because of limitations/ ergonomics (for me) of Conquest HD 8x42 and the Swarovski SLC 8x42 So now I have all three to try back to back: I only...

Conquest HD 8x42 vs Swarovski slc 8x42

Thanks for the responses. I will wait and see what the MHG is like. Keeping fingers crossed for good CA control. I might be able to live with the CA if the binos are that good. With the SLC I have to "hunt" or look for the CA to find it. Where as with the Conquest I often notice the CA and I...

Conquest HD 8x42 vs Swarovski slc 8x42

Thank you for all the responses. I would love to keep the SLC but not being able to use them without my glasses is a total deal breaker. I am so bummed about this, If i could use the SLC without glasses it would be no question and they would stay and I would've not ordered the HG and zeiss...

Conquest HD 8x42 vs Swarovski slc 8x42

Thank you for your suggestion. The Nikon HG 8x42 was on my also a contender on my radar. It fell off after I saw a review that said it would only slightly edge out the Monarch 7. After your suggestion (and price find, thanks) and after watching a couple more reviews on youtube (esp one...

Conquest HD 8x42 vs Swarovski slc 8x42

Have been a long time lurker. I would like to post some findings. I want to upgrade from my current Monarch 5 ED 8x42. I really like these binoculars but I always felt like I could have a little bit better glass in terms of chromatic aberration, sharpness and brightness. Aspects of the...
