    New Coatings on NL ?

Same design, same huge awful black lump of rubber, no less hard and brittle, but I now find it to be usable. My copies may simply be from a different batch from the ones I experienced on instruments manufactured in 2020 and 2021, but they do slide off rather than needing to be dragged off. I...

    New Coatings on NL ?

I can't comment on any change to the coatings, but I do perceive an improvement in the fit of the objective covers and, in particular, the rainguard, which is now (on 2022 manufactured instruments) less prone to dragging up the eyecups each time it's taken off (that's on both x32's).

Why is Alpha better than high grade.

Forgive me... ...but I have just read this thread from posts 1-117 and wish I hadn't. It is ugly. I own some 'alpha' binoculars and I love them, I use them in the field for 3-5 hours most days, but right now I love them a little bit less than I did before reading this thread. I feel like I have...

    Ultravid 8x42 BL?

Continuing my habit of dragging up old threads... For a while now, I've been looking for a really good copy of a Trinovid BA 8x42 or, preferably, a BN 8x42, but none I've seen have taken my fancy. But, while Googling for reading material about Leica instruments from the last 25 years, I...

What’s about Reviews of the NL 10x32

Do your experiences not reflect the very nature of 10x42 vs 10x32 in general? Surely a 10x32 binocular is always going to be more challenging, in terms of eye placement, and the necessity to set them up with absolute precision, especially those with a very wide field of view. Certainly, I have...

What’s about Reviews of the NL 10x32

Interesting, Andreas. Right now, I'm sitting here thinking how lucky I am to be short-sighted with astigmatism. 😂

What’s about Reviews of the NL 10x32

Does anyone happen to know if the EL Field Pro neck strap will work with the NL Pure? The fixing points look the same, but may be a different diameter and depth. Thank you! 🙂

What’s about Reviews of the NL 10x32

Andreas will confirm, but I believe that's exactly what he's saying. And, although this doesn't affect me personally, using this instrument with glasses, I suspect if you push the binoculars too hard against your glasses the rubber eyecups may squash down to the level of the metal housing. It...

What’s about Reviews of the NL 10x32

Aha, understood, Andreas, thank you very much for clarifying. It's an interesting point, because clearly you wouldn't mention it in such strong terms if it wasn't an issue that people have experienced, and well worth checking before any purchase if you're a glasses wearer. Fortunately, I have...

I must have missed this...why can they become a nightmare?

    Trinovid BA/BN eye-relief/FoV specifications?

Thank you very much, that's all useful information, in particular because I am also a 7x42 UVHD+ owner, my absolute favourite of all binoculars I've owned or tested. I struggle to justify ownership, 7x42 is not a format I'm ever likely to use very often, but the feel of the instrument in the...

    Trinovid BA/BN eye-relief/FoV specifications?

Well, when models such as the Victory FL and Trinovid BA/BN were current, I had less disposable income than I do now, with very different financial priorities/responsibilities. My now completed mission to find 'my binocular', which intensified around 18 months ago, having decided to switch to...

    Trinovid BA/BN eye-relief/FoV specifications?

Canip, thank you very much for that, all extremely useful information, I appreciate you taking the time to offer your thoughts. I had, in fact, already visited your site, always my 'go to' site for anything eye relief related, and for a very measured and informative insight into any instrument...

    Trinovid BA/BN eye-relief/FoV specifications?

Dragging up an old thread here.... I'm wondering if anyone has experience of using 8x42 Trinovid BN's with glasses, and would be able to comment. The current UVHD+ has a stated ER of 17mm and a usable ER of around 14mm and fit me perfectly, but other instruments with greater ER I have found not...

    NL Pure 8x32 v CL Companion 8x30

It may simply be that the view is just so flawless, in terms of the rendering of natural colour, the total lack of CA, sharpness across the field, etc., that for Viraj, the view lacks 'character'? Wine? Don't get me started...😉🍷
