    much obliged, i can't wait for the trip but still planning time away etc have my second trip to Pembrokeshire coming up....got to squeeze in the Scotland one this year now tho...even if it's a quick reci for a longer trip next year....and yep raptors are my thing.

    many thanks i'm going...i'm sold. just waiting for Gordons book so i can plan it..although i've just been passed a dvd "biring in Scotland" which is helping too.....and got to find a way of getting there with the dog but wothout the drive....that's the next challenge. thanks for the tips tho...

    I'm planning my first trip to Scotland for the obvious targets. anybody able to help with best times to go and best places to visit to maximise my chances of getting as many species as poss? Any help from some of you more experienced Scotland birders would be well recieved.

    Thanks guys. Salthouse seems a good bet i was up there earlier in the year for snow bunting. I'll give it a go but it's a 3 hour drive so i'll have to make a day of it and try the buzzard watchpoint too and who knows somebody may help with the Montys news while i'm up there.     thanks for the welcome guys....just been to Rainham for the white tailed plover...lovely bird showing well. First Mega for me and on the local patch, can't be bad. I think i've been spoilt lately as i can't remember my last dip (save the five Hoopoe i've gone for this year)

    Hi new to the forum and looking for tips for sites in Norfolk target list: Nightjar, Honey Buzzard, Montagu's Harrier. i know they're sensitive sites but three birds i'd like to see during my next trip to Norfolk if anybody can help with site details.
