    Ring found on dead chaffinch

Hey guys I got to report the ring eventually! I havent got the full details back yet regarding who and where it was rung by, But I have been told that the bird was rung in 2006 which is amazing! I guess that would be a great age for a Chaffinch. Thanks again for all the help.

    Irish WhitTails found dead

I cant see the Gardai being able to do much about the poisonings to be honest. A lot of rural stations have been closed in the last week due to cut-backs so there will be even less gardai to deal with more problems. I think education is key and as a previous post says, maybe a Gigrin style...

    Black or Red Kite?

I would of thought its a Red Kite. I think some of the Kites released in Dublin headed west for a whille, It doesnt have a deep fork in the tail so maybe its a young bird?

    Sparrowhawk with prey

I suppose it all makes sense that the older hawks deal with prey in a much cleaner fashion. I saw a sparrowhawk take down a large woodpigeon early this morning it only took maybe less than two minutes to kill it. She then dragged the pigeon in behind some laylandii to eat it in peace(away from...

    Raptor feather, woods, N Italy

Im not sure that this is either a spar or a gos feather. It looks a bit broad to be from a hawk and maybe the wrong colouring. I think its more like a buzzard type feather but im open to correction!!
