    Little Stint? Essex, UK

I photographed this single bird at Blue House Farm in Essex yesterday and believe it is a little stint but it seems to have a lot of red aound the head which I haven't seen before. Is it a summer plumaged adult perhaps? Any guidance greatfully appreciated as always.

    Stonechat ID. Suffolk, UK

Thank you both very much for replying, it is appreciated. I will file it under European and put it down to a quirk of the app.

    Stonechat ID. Suffolk, UK

These two photos were taken 21st August 2020 at RSPB Hollesley Marshes, Suffolk five minutes apart but I believe of the same bird. I thought European Stonechat but checked it with the Merlin phone app and both photos are coming up as Siberian Stonechat. I know that apps can't be 100% right all...

    Diver ID Essex, UK

Thanks for your replies, greatly appreciated as always. The thigh patch wasn't conspicuous but the distance was challenging. Great Northern Diver is not uncommon at this location but there was some suspicion of Black-throated Diver amongst the observers present.

Is it possible to positively identify this single bird from these photographs taken of it yesterday off the Essex coast?

    Duck id Essex UK

Saw this small duck today on marshland in Essex. It was alone and constantly dabbling. One photo also shows redshank for size comparison. Any ideas on id would be greatley appreciated.

    Cliffe Pools, Kent. UK

I would like to visit Alpha Pool at RSPB Cliffe Pools in Kent but I can't find out how to access it. I tried following The Saxon Way past Cliffe Fort but there is a sign saying the footpath is closed due to erosion. The other side seems to be private land owned by an extraction company. Any help...

    Curlew Sandpiper. UK

The first two photos were taken of the same bird today at Old Hall Marshes, Essex. I am thinking adult Curlew Sandpiper moulting out of breeding plumage? The last three individuals were photographed yesterday at Oare Marshes in Kent amongst many Dunlins. Are they all Curlew Sandpipers? Any help...
