The director of an Audubon Center thought that it was an Eastern Whippoorwill, so I wanted confirmation. I was thrown off by the lack of white markings on the wings and tail. Does that mean that it is a female?
Can you tell if this is a juvie Sharp-shinned or a juvie Cooper's Hawk? We saw both migrating on October 26 at Franklin Mountain Hawk Watch, Davenport, NY overlooking Oneonta. Please let me know how you came to your conclusions.
