Thanks for info regarding the "red" bird; presumably escaped from someone's home along the south coast or the island itself. As for the pipit; is it a Meadow ? Adult or possible juvenile ? Thanks, Dave.

Images taken on the Isle of Wight on 8th June 2021. One is, presumably, an escapee ? The other a juvenile Meadow Pipit ? Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Dave.

Visiting Kirkby Lonsdale next week; assistance with local birding sites please.

Mono, Barbondale was excellent. Splendid views of pied flys, redstarts, and a pair of cuckoos together in a single hawthorn shrub. Possible spotted fly, but not clear enough view to be certain. Even without the birds, it was a stunning short walk. Very many thanks, Dave.

Owene, many thanks. We southerners often forget about Dippers, except when we have our annual (but not this or last year !) 5 or 6 week trip to the Scottish Highlands. Much appreciated. Dave.
