Ace stay-on case for ATX 85

Thanks for this link, Bill. Having read this very thorough review, I think I'll buy the overpriced Swaro instead.... I had bought the Ace Optics stay on case the other day and received it yesterday morning. It was poorly made, with no protection on the inside of the zips (so it could mark the...

    Viking KH-1 pan head

Hello all, Does anyone have this sort of tripod head, and if so, what do you think of it? I don't even know whether it will fit on top of my Manfrotto... If you have another sort of head (of approximately £100 or so) could you please tell me whether you like it or not...? I have a carbon fibre...

Ace stay-on case for ATX 85

Hello all, having purchased an ATX 85 at Birdfair last weekend, I wish to protect it. But having dropped close to £3k on a new scope, I would like a cost-effective case.... The price of the Swaro is around £195.... However, I've found that Ace sell one for half that price...

    Your favorite paintings

Hi all, just found this post. My current fave artists are Andrew Haslen - almost anything by him - and Brin Edwards, both members of the Society of Wildlife Artists, here in the UK. I don't have links, but they're easily found online, and Mr Haslen runs the fab wildlife art gallery in Lavenham...

    A few British birds

Hello all, I've just returned to the forum and, whilst I will probably move from big lens bird photography to digiscoping, I have been painting a few small oils, based entirely on the photos I have taken. I hadn't picked up a brush for 30 years, but last year my personal circumstances changed...

    Hello from Suffolk, UK

Thank you.... ....it's nice to be back. I hope to post a bit more now, perhaps starting with an ad to sell my lens (to replace it with a new scope for digiscoping).

    Hello from Suffolk, UK

Hello all, I joined the forum in 2012, but have been away for too long, working and studying, etc... Now I'm back and living in East Anglia. A place of great wildlife, great RSPB and Wildlife Trust sites and some lovely weather. Its good to be back! Dicky

    Kowa TSN883 and Canon 70D...?

Hi everyone, I bought a Canon 500mm F/4 L II USM last year, and whilst I enjoy using it, I'm thinking of swapping the lens for a new scope (partly as an excuse to upgrade my old scope and partly because of the weight difference....) I use a Canon 70D, which I love. Does this and the Kowa sound...

    fungus, dust and condensation..?

Thanks all. Yes, I was thinking of buying the 2x tc as well. Can I assume these little pieces of glass are also weather proofed so that condensation etc. cannot get in...? Thanks.

    fungus, dust and condensation..?

Thanks v much Johnf3f, I'll bear that in mind. I hope to buy a 300mm 2.8 so would feel physically sick if I realised it was full of something other than gas...!
