    Thank you, Larry. Right, the Black-billed is listed as a rare species on eBird for this area. I agree. The bill looks more likely that of Gray-bellied. We'll see if anyone chimes in. Thanks again!

    We took this photo at a rest stop in this protected natural area. Another birder photographing the same bird said he thought it was a Black-billed Shrike-tyrant. After looking at photos of similar birds it looks more like a Lesser Shrike-tyrant though the bill seems a bit too large for a Lesser...

    Yes, I see now. It is a Mourning Sierra-finch. I was thinking of the black coloring of the male for this species. Thanks!

    Thank you, Alan. I've been looking over these 2 photos and came to the same conclusion. I looks to me more like a Southern Royal as you stated. I was seeing the same thing with the slight bit of black to the mandible. Thanks!

    Unfortunately, those are the only 2 photos I have of this bid, Rafael. I see why this could be a Wandering Albatross. Is that the way you would lean with this bird?
