Rolling Ball: what do I do?!

Brilliant suggestion; however I am afraid that it has to be 8x32 for me because the 42s are just too heavy and big. Dammit I am so annoyed

Rolling Ball: what do I do?!

Hi everyone, Sorry if I am repeating here (as this reply is on the 'high end binocular advice needed' thread in the general bin forum). I have just bought a pair of the SVs 8x32 - my choice was between the Zeiss Victory FL T 8x32 and the Swarovisions. The Zeiss were great, but the SVs were...

    High-end binocular advice much needed!

Hi everyone, Not meaning to resurrect an old thread but I made a trip to the bin shop first thing this morning and tried both the Zeiss Victory FL T 8x32 and the Swarovisions. The Zeiss were great, but the SVs were just amazing.... enough that I got them. Whereas the Zeiss were like a very...

    Facebook page: stop bird banding

Hi Hor Kee, I am in no way implying that they are not intitled to free speech. I have nothing against those who are morally opposed to banding/ringing. My problem with this page is that they cherry pick and post opinions as facts whilst ignoring the overwhelming scientific evidence that banding...

    High-end binocular advice much needed!

Hi everyone, Again, sorry to go off the raidar. I am still reading all your comments with great interest and thanks for all the advice. We ust managed to pick up a new pair of 8x42 Nikon Premiers for just over $600 for my boyfriend in the US. I think they are a steal! ...but completely unfair...

    High-end binocular advice much needed!

http://www.bitterwallet.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/pint-of-lager.jpg I have emailed In Focus to see what the deal is with those FLs as that would be great. Already in the UK and all that. I am starting to look more at the Minox APO HG 8x43... which I am sure is just going to add to my...

I feel it too!!! CJ you hit the nail on the head. Pint to the first person who answers the question B (: ...and also: do I just get the FLs going on DOUGs ebay now for less than $1299 as a 'just in case'???? I have 4 hours to decide! aaaaah

When you put it like that, yes I also share your opinion. I think it is because it seemed more contrasty that I preferred the view. But the idea of an altered image is not something I like

    High-end binocular advice much needed!

Yes I do think this is surprising and I know it would bother me a little... but whether this would be a lot, I don't know! Thanks for the advice, I sure I compare each bin in bright conditions as much as I plan to try them in dim light I was a bit surprised to find that I didn't really care...

George, would you mind clarifying a bit more by what you mean by 'difficult' light - do you mean dim/dark conditions, or bright sun or perhaps where you get a mix of bright sun and shade Frank, thank you for the advice. It is reassuring. I can get the FLs for $1400 or under right not and so I...

    High-end binocular advice much needed!

This is a what I though when I was in the shade towards dusk. I am not sure how I feel about this... I think I need to look more. I want both a natural colour and also good contrast where things 'pop out' as many of you say, and from what I understand, the warmer tones do that.

p.s. everyone's names are all similar in some way, I am finding it hard to keep track of who is who :p

Not sure about RSPB ones but all bins (and generally all electronics) are cheaper in the US generally by quite a long way which is why I think I will end up getting them there, the difference it just too much, plus the fact that I plan to move there eventually and so it makes more sense with...

    High-end binocular advice much needed!

dammit I want them now. DOUG has some great offers but I don't know if I could get them shipped to the UK for the next researcher to bring over. If they hold their value then it makes sense to get them now if I can resell for the same if I don't like them or prefer the SVs.... SIGH p.s. sorry...

    High-end binocular advice much needed!

The primary reason why I am thinking of 8x32 is because the size and weight of a 42 bothers me too much, and so much that I am prepared to risk the chance of a slightly darker view at some times as opposed to not enjoying using my bins most of the time. Thanks for stating this. I think I will...
