Reviews and comparisons to Victory HT 10x54's vs 10x42's?

Just get either Zeiss 10x54 or the huge Swarovski SLC 10x54. I like Zeiss but there is nothing wrong with Swarovski. They are both huge and heavy, with SLC even larger. That's not a bug, it's a feature. I really like the 10x54, doubtful I will ever go back to the 8x anything. An interesting...

Swarovski 12x50 EL versus 15x56 SLC

Apparently 12x50 EL is a more practical choice, 2x is a significant difference versus 10x (same as the 10x is a significant upgrade from 8x) But 15x is a tripod only territory which both limits and expands its usefulness. At this point 10x is almost at the upper end of what I can hold...

Reviews and comparisons to Victory HT 10x54's vs 10x42's?

I migrated from a 8x42 Zeiss SF to the 10x54 HT and never looked back. It outperforms any 8x42 in every category (except for weight, which isn't a performance issue per se). Brighter, better performance in twilight, resolves a lot more, etc. At this point I am only considering 50mm+ objectives...

Swarovski 12x50 EL versus 15x56 SLC

I already have the most excellent Zeiss 10x54 HT and am debating whether to get the 12x or 15x. My concern about 12x50 is that 12x is not a good match for the 50m objective in terms of exit pupil size. Making it harder to use. OTOH, both binoculars have an almost identical exit pupil size. I...

Extreme Nearsightedness--Focusing at infinity without eyeglasses

I am in the same boat, I have -5.5D in both eyes. I like Leica but none of their products are adequate, they appear to go to -4D only. I've had Swaro EL 8.5x42, it went to 6D infinity-wise, just barely enough. Had Zeiss 8x42 SF, also appeared to go to 6D, just barely enough. Zeiss 10x54 HT...

    Zeiss 10x56 Night Owl

I think I will keep my 8x42 SF instead, looks like a very dated design from the 90's. Although I do not mind heavy. In my mind, heavy always associated with "quality". Light was always associated with cheap Chinesium stuff. Although the Zeiss SF is featherweight and is quality.

    Zeiss 10x54 HT impressions today

I would hypothesize it's because 15x is not hand-holdable. My largest power is 10x and it's the strongest power I can handle, off-hand. I think I might deal with 12x at times but 15x is in a very niche, specialty territory such as astronomy - and it does make a big difference, moving from 8x or...

    Zeiss 10x56 Night Owl

Have a chance to acquire Zeiss 10x56 Night Owl, not much info on them on the forum. How do they compare to the 10x54 HT? I am upgrading all my smaller binoculars for large ones, thinking about swapping the 8x42 SF for the older Night Owl. how is overdrive past infinity? I do not like to use...

    Swarovski 10x50 EL question

I've noticed that the larger the objective is, the brighter it is, with the power being a distant second. I think 8x50 would be brighter than 10x42, even though the TI would be 20.5 and 20.5 in both cases.

    Swarovski 10x50 EL question

Yes, please do. I would appreciate that. Are you sure about 10x42 EL having 15.5 D of overtravel? I've had the 8.5x42 EL model and it had based on my assessment only 6D of overtravel. I am at -5.5D eyesight-wise and it had barely enough and then a tiny bit more, I don't think it hits 7D. But...

    Zeiss 10x54 HT impressions today

HT: I did not detect any CA nor soft edges. It's performs well above any 42mm objective device.

    Geovid HD-B 8x56 vs 8x42

I have had 8x42 for years, recently discovered 10x54 Zeiss, it offers fantastic low light views. Would never go back to 8x42. 8x56 would be fabulous

Choice: SLC 10x56 or NL Pure 12x42

A wise choice! I almost got one but decided to go with HT 10x54 which is basically the same thing.

Ultravid HD+ - Any changes in the overdrive past infinity?

I don't care for Leica specifically, over Zeiss. I only care about increased objective size. I want 50mm instead of 42mm.

Best Alpha Glass for Low Light?

So there it is. Objective size rules. For me, nothing less than 42mm in the past and from now, won't buy anything less than 50mm. My favorite is Zeiss 10x54 HT. What an amazing low-light performance.
