Northern Harrier was up there. Better views of Tree Swallow and Pileated Woodpecker would've been cool. i got everything I wanted apart from the Harrier,

7th August I was on 98 species, and needed 2 more to complete my goal. I staked out the Red-headed Woodpecker spot for 30 minutes and no sign. We decided to try a place called along Pond IBA, somewhere I saw on eBird. When we put in the map, we got to a random trail going along a farm. We were...

I didn’t try and catch the Osprey, I wanted to catch the fish 😂. I would never try to catch a bird on purpose unless it’s for a ringing session, which I can’t even do yet.

Unknown warbler, South Cape May Meadows August 2nd.

Hey all, another ID required please. I am not sure what this bird is, I think it’s a warbler of some sort but I honestly don’t have a clue. Don’t recall it singing or calling either. Many thanks, Ev

6th August An excellent days birding, visited some waterfalls just 20 miles from us, and as we left I picked up Broad-winged Hawk circling the house. We arrived at the waterfall car park and had a smart male American Goldfinch. However it went very quiet for the majority of the hike. I was...

Red-shouldered hawk? Stillwater PA just now

Saw this hawk 5 mins ago and looks good for immature red shouldered hawk, happy to be corrected though? Sorry for back of the camera shot. Many thanks, Ev

August 5th A fairly uneventful day, woke up early and saw a Skunk in the garden which was a new mammal species for me. Went out on a walk with some family and had fun photographing Black-capped Chickadees and a juvenile Downy Woodpecker. I walked round down the bend and heard an unfamiliar...

    Unknown flycatcher, Stillwater PA, yesterday.

Oh neat, didn’t realise they could have that much of a yellow hue to the chest.

No they were definitely Eastern Kingbirds lol. I think there were bugs on the water which they would catch off the surface. Perhaps fishing was the wrong word. I think I’m in the high 80s maybe 90s in terms of species on the list. Edit: I have changed the wording of how the kingbirds were...

    Unknown flycatcher, Stillwater PA, yesterday.

Hey all, had this very interesting looking flycatcher on a post yesterday, I don’t know at all what it could be. Can’t upload actual files as I don’t have a computer with me, so it will have to be back of the camera shots. Apologies. Many thanks, Ev

    Philadelphia, 11 Days Birding, July 2022-August 2022.

3rd of August and 4th August On the 3rd we arrived at a new house at around 6pm. Prior to this I enjoyed very good views of garden birds including Chimney Swift, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, White-breasted Nuthatch, Northern Cardinal, American Goldfinch, House Finch and more...

    Anglesey Wales

Could Savi’s Warbler be an option here? They can reel for a long time, sounding like a grasshopper warbler. They tend to be a brownish colour overall, but without a picture it is very difficult to ID based on a description (no offense).

Dark eyed Junco? Stillwater Lake Pennsylvania Today.

Hey all just had this bird in the deck at the place we are staying at just 10 minutes ago. It behaved a lot like a Junco but it seems very early to be one. Photo quality is very poor, so might not be ID’able. Is it a dark eyed junco? Many thanks Ev
