If they do make a movie about it I suggest it should be called 'Carry on up the Garrison'. Shagging the Landlady, eating poisonous weed, gratuitous violence and a few top birds...it has the makings of a great comedy.
I am not sure, but I think all european pipits can be identified on a combination of plumage differences and call.Do all African pipits have the same call?
I think they are juvenile Lesser Redpoll. We dont get Twite on the east coast of Ireland this time of year and they usually feed on salt marsh..not generally a garden bird
Hi Dolce, the first 3 pics are of a young Greenfinch recently fledged. The last two look like an adult male Greenfinch. I think he is just fluffing up his feathers. He could be just sun bathing or is possibly unwell.
