Upgraded Leica Geovid R Rangefinder Binoculars

I've been using the older HD-R's for years and been very happy with them. These look very interesting as the range button now is on the right barrel, they seem to have the better lens coatings as well and at least as stated better eye relief. FOV seems to be about the same.

How much is a new-old-stock Trinovid 10x42 (2012-2015 model) worth?

I recently bought some very nice used ones, 10x42 for $700 and felt like it was a fair deal. I have other top tier binos( Swaro EL SV 8.5x42, NL pure 12x42 and 10x42 Geovids) and these Trinovids offer a lot of bino for the money and I would put them on par with older Swaro SLC's. When they were...

Looking forward to hearing from any folks that get their hands on these.

    Leica Geovid

To the OP, another difference between the HD's and the R is the HD's rangefinder did not have angle comp, where the R's do. In the 17 years of owning Geovid's I've never had a warranty issue but it seems Leica has really upped their game as of late. In the used market I'd not pay over...

    Leica Geovid

One main difference between the closed bridge HD's and the R's is the HD's had different coatings. John, thanks for the info but they are missing the older HD-R's, in 10x42's the model # was 40059, which I consider the best of the closed bridge models. I have several and have been using them...

    Focuser smoothness on NL Pure?

The 10x42 NL's I had suffered the same focus wheel issue. My EL 8.5-42 SV's are much better, and after many years of hard use my old Geovids still have the nicest focus function I've experienced.

Leica upgrade Trinovid BA's vs. Ultravid HD's.

I have been enjoying my Trinovid BA 8x32 for many years, but have a chance to buy some Ultravid 8x42 HD's for $500 more than I will get for the Trinovids if I choose to sell them. I understand the physical differences and exit pupil between the two, leading to likely much better light gathering...

Updated Swarovski Range and CL pockets.

I was told by a Swaro rep that the new El Range now had "Swarovision" glass.
