The pic isn't the best, it was a soft gray, the belly was not completely yellow but most of it was, it does have a black bar near the eye, one white band/bar on it's wings, pale beak....was eating small bugs. Any help would be appreciated.Thank you.
Subspecies of Wild Turkey(copy and paste)
There are subtle difference in the coloration of the different sub-species of Wild Turkeys. The six subspecies are:
M. g. silvestris in northern Florida
Eastern Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo silvestris)
This was the turkey species first...
During the spring they seem to come out of the woodwork...I have some amazing photos...here's a few, the last one is of a hen turkey eating .the first 3 are easterns, the last one is an Osceola...They are the most beauitful bird in the world to me.
I have seen the Bachmans sparrow on several occassions, I had pics but the bird looks like a lil brown blob, it wasn't worth keeping...I know where he's been staying and I have been there several times to try to get pics but he just doesn't seem to cooperate, lol...
If any others have opinions...
I do but I don't think they are as good but I'll include them in this reply....and the pics were taken in Christmas at Tosohatchee Wildlife Management Area.I looked on the bird list and it was listed as a visitor to their neck of the woods.
I have been mowing the pastures and I have been seeing this lil guy being flushed as I mowed, he/she landed in a Oak tree and let me get some neat pics. but I have no idea what kind of bird it is.....I believe it to be in the Sparrow family, I just don't know what kind, please help me..
Thank...
Hi everyone...My name is Casey...
I have just gotten into birding semi-seriously, so far it has been a great experience...I'm out there every free chance I have.
Looking forward to learning all of the different types of birds.
Y'all take care
