    I guess he's right, there were hoodies in the area, but this was a speck in the distance and with no obvious bill, it caught me out somewhat. I think the fact that it's flying and clearly not soaring means the tail is compact with no fan to suggest raptor...Silly me.

    This bird was seen at a distance on the Monte Smith Acropolis. I managed to get closer. First impression at a distance was some kind of waggie but other markings led me to Tawny Pipit. Would appreciate your views and I.d.

    I like their animation Stanley, especially the way that like a lot of the little waders, they run back and forth and have a 6th sense for the incoming waves.
