    MBGBI Vol 5, 1&2

Having now received a replacement Part 1 that was damaged in transit I have now placed the two volumes in with all the others.....to find that they are a completely different size! What are Brill playing at? Not impressed, a long-awaited opportunity missed. I'll shut up now...and hope for...

    MBGBI Vol 5, 1&2

Received my copies of the long-awaited Tortrix volumes, the first to be published by Brill rather than Harley. To be honest I am distinctly underwhelmed: the text is pretty good but already out of date (I know there has to be a cut-off date but adding dots to the VC map cannot be that...

    Turtle Doves

How can we in the UK deplore the actions of the Maltese and Cypriot hunters when people like these are allowed to promote shooting in this country and abroad? Makes my blood boil. :C:C:C

    New book on micros

Worth the wait! I got my hardback copy in the post yesterday, and I can say it is a super book. I think the species covered is about right, and the information given is enough, and of course the plates are superb. My copies will be well used I am sure!:t: I had an email from Phil Sterling...

    Yorkshire Birding

After a few heart-stopping moments (well several days really), eventually decided upon pale end of argentatus spectrum, have had three. Gull 2 is a 2nd-winter Glaucous Gull and the last, obviously a stonking adult Iceland.

    Odd Gull in Yorkshire

Two similar birds seen today I attach some more shots of one of the birds today. I fully accept that they are argentatus, now that better views obtained, and I appreciate the feedback. I have certainly never seen similar before.
