    Newly designed Audubons?

Tire smell I had a pair of Docter 10x50's and always thought they smelled bad.... reading here, I realize it's because they smelled like a tire! Thanks, Brock!! Hey, you still interested in your old 804's?? Wes

    Still using your HR/5?

Hi, Ricky- Fancy meeting you here, Mate!! Hey, I never did hear any feedback as to how you liked your ED's! Be happy to take any of those 3 Swift's off yer' hands when ye' tire of 'em! I have a pair of HR-5's that the Rev. Mr. Brock graciously bestowed on me for a paltry pittance... they are...

What's next for Zen-Ray: your input.

A different input from all the rest Charles- I would like to commend you for posing a question such as this. Your willingness to communicate with your users- and to both solicit and listen to inputs puts you in a totally different category from the others, and I HIGHLY commend and thank you for...

Zen 7x36 out in the field.

Amazing... Amazing how we're comparing $400.00 binoculars to $2000.00 binoculars, then complaining about how a bunch of pros compared binoculars looking through a window... Talk about an uneven playing field! The very fact that we are comparing $400.00 to $2000.00 binoculars is in itself a hell...

    S200EXR RAW conversion question

I understand that with this camera (and other Fuji's) that RAW conversion is a problem. Has a solution for this problem been found yet? Do I need to download the included Fuji software and then updates? Will that enable successful RAW conversion? I just got the camera, and am trying to upgrade...

Good movie camera's for backyard birds, etc.

I've been trying to learn what are good choices in the under $300.00 range in the current crop of video cameras- and perhaps between $300.00-500.00 as well. I'm considering getting a straight movie/video camera, as opposed to the hybrid/DSLR camera. Looking for something with some optical zoom...

Need advice on attaching camera to scope

Scope/camera compatability Before I spent money on the setup, I would check to see if the camera will work well with the scope simply by holding it up to the scope- and seeing what kind of results you can get out of it. Many spotting scopes are very particular about mating up with a camera-...

    Recommendations for an "almost" Superzoom??

Made my choice Thanks for your replies. I pulled the trigger on an S200EXR, I will post my impressions on it when I get it. I don't need the extreme zoom length of the newest superzooms, but still want to reach out a little further than the typical point-&-shoot cameras. Image quality is...

    S200EXR/S205- any experiences with it?

Niels- Thanks for your response. I pulled the trigger on one, so will post my impressions on it when I get it. I don't need the extreme zoom length of the newest superzooms, but still want to reach out a little further than the typical point-&-shoot cameras. Image quality is important, and I...

    S200EXR/S205- any experiences with it?

Am looking for a camera for birds/squirrel's in the yard with better image quality than the HS-10, Lumix FZ series, or the Canon SX30. This camera seems to fit the bill. Doesn't have the bells/whistles of these other superzooms, but the end result is what counts IMHO. Any feedback? Thanks.

    Recommendations for an "almost" Superzoom??

Jim- Of course you're correct... I was writing in a hurry. I'd like to be able to go to a 35mm equivalent of 300-400mm... 300 minimum. Wes

    Recommendations for an "almost" Superzoom??

I'm looking for a superzoom camera- but all the reviews that I read have the image quality suffering at nearly anything over- if not even at iso 100. Even reviews on the Lumix FZ100 especially- and the Canon SD30IS (and the Nikon) indicate severe noise or softness in the images... I really...

    Backyard Birding with the SX30

Nice pictures! Nice pictures! I've been studying and studying the SX30IS vs. the Lumix DMX FZ100 cameras for just this type of use, birds and squirrels in the backyard or a little farther. These pictures make me feel a lot better about the degredations that reviewers typically point out. I'm...

    Nikon 8x30 EIIs

Brock- As knowledgeable as you are- and as involved in binoculars as you are, I'm kind of surprised you haven't invested in a spanner wrench set!!! Wes
