Lesser Spotted Woodpecker? North East China

Hi everyone I spotted this bird today, can someone confirm if it is a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker? I could not see if he had a red crest, by the time I figured out what the noise was he had moved up the tree, but I believe that an adult female has a white crest. Thanks in advance Michele
